Rich Hayes is an Eclipse 500/550 Instructor Pilot and FAA Pilot Proficiency
Examiner (PPE) and has been involved with the Eclipse Jet since 2009.
Rich brings his vast general aviation experience as a Cirrus Standardized
Instructor Pilot (CSIP) helping transition pilots to the Eclipse Jet.
Rich got his aviation career started over 46 years ago at the age of 16.
Immediately after college he was selected to attend US Air Force pilot
training and instructed in the F-111, F-4 and F-15’s for 22 years. Also
during that time, Rich was a Delta Airline pilot and later upgraded to Captain
on the MD-88, MD-11, Airbus A-310, B-767 and B-757. He has a keen
sense of the challenges that Eclipse pilots must overcome in flight training.
Rich takes pride instructing in a down-to-earth style and helping pilots
become better aviators in their personal aircraft as well as the knowledge of
operating in todays advanced aircraft.
Rich is originally from the state of Oregon and now lives in Marietta,
Georgia with his wife Cathy. When not flying, he enjoys golf and spending
time with his three kids and his 5 grandchildren.
